{"id":2009,"date":"2007-07-08T14:23:00","date_gmt":"2007-07-08T14:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/projects\/horsesforsources\/who-is-the-greatest-of-all-time\/"},"modified":"2007-07-08T14:23:00","modified_gmt":"2007-07-08T14:23:00","slug":"who-is-the-greatest-of-all-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.horsesforsources.com\/who-is-the-greatest-of-all-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Who is the greatest of all time?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fersht.typepad.com\/.shared\/image.html?\/photos\/uncategorized\/2007\/07\/08\/wimbledonfinalgallaryrogerfederer4_.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Wimbledonfinalgallaryrogerfederer4_\" height=\"70\" alt=\"Wimbledonfinalgallaryrogerfederer4_\" src=\"http:\/\/www.horsesforsources.com\/images\/2007\/07\/08\/wimbledonfinalgallaryrogerfederer4_.jpg\" width=\"100\" border=\"0\" style=\"FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 5px 5px 0px\" \/><\/a> <span style=\"color: #000066;\"><em>Having spent the first half of my life living in Wimbledon, I have been privileged to follow some historic matches &#8211; especially the Borg\/McEnroe\/Connors golden age.&nbsp; I never thought we&#8217;d see anyone emulate Borg&#8217;s 5 consecutive Wimbledon titles, but today we saw the &quot;Fed Express&quot; dig deep to achieve the unachievable.&nbsp; Does this make him the greatest player of all time &#8211; to win 5 Wimbledon titles on the bounce in this era of physical and technical perfection?&nbsp; <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000066;\">My vote goes to Bjorn Borg &#8211; for two reasons:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000066;\">1) Borg also won the French open 6 times (and 3 times concurrently with Wimbledon).&nbsp; To dominate clay court and grass for such a long period is the true test of class and having the complete game.&nbsp; Federer hasn&#8217;t won in France.&nbsp; Neither did Sampras, McEnroe or Connors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000066;\">2) Borg had to contend against other great players&#8230;.McEnroe, Connors, Vilas, Nastase to name a few.&nbsp; Federer&#8217;s only real competitor is Nadal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000066;\">Feel free to cast your vote (see the sidebar to the left)&#8230;.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Having spent the first half of my life living in Wimbledon, I have been privileged to follow some historic matches&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"organization":[],"ppma_author":[19],"class_list":["post-2009","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.8 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Who is the greatest of all time?
